Joining the association “Living Cultural Heritage St. Pauli e. V.”
The association “Living Cultural Heritage St. Pauli e. V.” has set itself the goal of promoting and preserving St. Pauli. St. Pauli as a free space and place of tolerant, respectful and diverse coexistence of different but equal life models is the "credo" of the association. Since the east is located in the middle of St. Pauli, the east managing directors Christoph Strenger and Jens Nuske did not find it difficult to decide to accept Olivia Jones' invitation to join. The east is happy to support such culturally important projects, because the association is also committed to recognizing the cultural uniqueness of St. Pauli as an intangible UNESCO cultural heritage. "After all, the east is as unique and colorful as St. Pauli," says CEO Christoph Strenger.
Together with the (founding) members Corny Littmann (Schmidts Tivoli), Olivia Jones (Kiezikone), Karl Schultz (Kiezpfarrer), Peter Kämmerer (SPD politician), Günther Zint (Kiez photographer / St. Pauli Museum) and many others, the east Hotel & Restaurant is now also part of the association. The members agree that the district of St. Pauli is much more an attitude and a special feeling - and a place that is unique in the world on top of that.
The east staff donates clothing to a good cause
Especially in the winter months, the homeless are dependent on help. The east Hotel & Restaurant team started a collection campaign for the homeless and those in need in the St. Pauli district and diligently collected warm and practical winter clothing over a period of two weeks. east Hotel Director Marlene Helmich (2nd from left) and PR Manager Peter Praunsmändtl (on the right in the picture) presented the clothing collection to the “CaFée mit Herz” in St. Pauli. There, managing director Jan Marquardt (on the left in the picture) accepted the clothes boxes with great gratitude.
"An action like this not only warms the body, but also the heart," Marquardt announced happily. Together with many voluntary helpers, the "CaFée mit Herz" takes care of the social and health care as well as catering for the needy and homeless people in St. Pauli on a daily basis.
